We are running MailEssentials 12 with Exchange 2003 on Server 2000 SP4. Yesterday morning I had about 6 users that had received NDR's of varying sorts from around 3:30am. Some were that we had been greylisted and others were the no user or failed to deliver in time limit. BUT the strange thing is that all of the emails that the NDR's refer to were originally sent out from my users over a week ago.
I am trying to find out what might have triggered this mass send of old emails. Some people actually got old emails from use and replied to them telling us they had already gotten this email a week or two ago why were we sending it again. They don't show up in the users "Sent ITems" folder and the users weren't here that early in the morning.
Any ideas if this might be from GFI's product?

Hello zulea,

This does not seem to be related to any of the GFI products, but rather a problem with email queues on your mail server, since MailEssentials does not store copies of your emails to resend.

I didn't think there was any place GFI was "Keepng" copies but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

You might want to check your \program files\exchsrvr\mailroot\vsi 1\queue and pickup folders - my guess is that there are/were files in here that the smtp service picked up when it was restarted.
