ODBC SQL Server Driver errors "Invalid date format... - 18.May2007 9:24:47 AM

Everyday, I get error messages when reading the W3C files on our web servers.  The error message is very vage:
5/9/2007 10:57:35 AM database N/A [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid time format - 22007
5/9/2007 10:57:48 AM database N/A [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation - 22001
5/9/2007 10:57:57 AM database N/A [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid date format - 22007

When I look in the W3C file, I don't see anything wrong.  The timestamp is when GFI read the file, not the timestamp of the line causing the problem.  I turned on debug in GFI and can't find enough information to point to a particular line that is causing the problem.  Wouldn't that be a nice feature for GFI (hint hint).

Does anyone know how to turn on debugging in SQL 2005 so I can see what was going on in the SQL server when this error message happens?  Or maybe a way to get GFI to show me the data it is trying to insert into the database when it is having this problem?

Hi Mark,
I did get an email that said they are still working on the "Invalid time format" problem, but they also said "there is no further information available at this time".  So that leads me to believe the "http://support.gfi.com/supportrequestform.asp " link won't do me much good.

I am trying to figure out a way to troubleshoot any error message that is coming from the "ODBC SQL Server Driver".  Not just the "Invalid time format" error.

I think I asked Carlton if he knows a way to figure out what line the process is working with, but he did not know.  Do you know how?

Case CAS-18119-6X9M was opened a month ago.  I thought maybe someone in the forum might be able to give me some troubleshooting tips to help identify the problem a little quicker.

Thanks

I opened CAS-17838-4ZKJ in April. The end result was I was told this was a known issue that would be fixed in a future build. I just bought the software, and installed and I see the issue is still there.

Is there resolution to this problem yet?

Hi Tony,
Do you get all three error messages?  The last 20 or so that I received were "Invalid time format", but I sometimes get the other two errors also.

Thanks,
Bradxray

A quick glance at my email says I seem to only be getting:

/31/2007 5:06:12 AM database N/A [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid time format - 22007

multiple times. This was not a thorough check, but I'll go through some logs and let you know.

Just bumping this, still having this problem with the very latest build. My anti virus is not scanning any GFI directories.
I am wondering if this is happening because the back end DB is SQLK 2005 X64?

Any resolution to this anyone?

Hey Tony,
I have not bothered loading the latest version.  I don't think we will be using this product much longer.

A few people contacted me wanting to troubleshoot this using my servers instead of just copying the W3C logs to theirs.  But, I told them I could not do that due to security reasons.  I offered to send them my log files, but they never asked for them.

6/21/07 CWhitehead@gfi.com said they could not reproduce the "exact same" problem.
6/25/07 DRubright@gfi.com asked for the info I had on the case.  That is the last interaction I have had with them.  It has been over 3 months now, I give up.

Hopefully someone will see this and work on the issue. I am in a bit of a tight spot and have no choice but to continue to use this product until the licese runs out, but I amlready testing alternatives.

I have also started to see new errors as of the time I loaded the latest version (earlier today)

the errors are:

I found this on Microsoft's site, it sure does sound familiar. IT doesn't apply to me because it is related to MDAC 2.1 and MDAC 2.5 I am running windows 2003 so the default MDAC on that is 2.8.

As far as I am aware, no recent builds, patches or kb articles resolve this issue.

Have you applied the patch which is mentioned below?

However, should you apply the patch above and the problem persists, please contact support as discussed in the following thread:

After working with a tech guy at GFI their solution seems to be "Install the BETA version 8.X", which seems unacceptable to me.

I will have to wait until version 8 comes out and see if it fixes all these problems before even consider renewing this product.

I do not like the idea of running beta software on my production servers.
