Hi, I am currently in the process of converting our network monitoring from paessler IPCheck, to GFI network server monitor. So far I like what I see, but I am having some difficulties in the Alerts area to numeric pagers. We using numeric pagers for tech notification, but I am finding it difficult to send "pure" numeric pages to pagers. We only use numeric pagers (vs Alpha numeric pagers), as numeric pagers work in all counties that we work in using our current provider. I have to ability to email the notification 604-999-9999@msg.telus.com so it makes it to a numeric pager, but I need a method to supremely pair down the size of the email to a four digit code within the subject line or body. The first number represents the location, the next three numbers represents the port we are having issues with. For example 2025 (location two is having a problem with port 25, the smtp mail service) When using Paissler's IPCheck we are able to seriously pair down the size of the email to something customized and small for each error alert. Within GFI NSM, the email alerts seem to be defaulted to many more characters. And after customizing within Alerting Options to reduce the emails size to just four digits, I don't seem to be able to refine the email to be a unique four digit code within "Actions" for each specific Monitoring Check. Any ideas how can create custom four digit numeric codes to be emailed as Alarms for each individual Monitoring Check ? Thank you for your assistance, Les Elton Network Admin.
