Hi there, Currently running MailEssentials SMTP/Exchange 12 and am running into an issue where two users who are being sent emails from an external address and are being sent the same message at the same time. One user1 gets the message and the other user2 does not. Both users are using the same email client (outlook 2007). When I check the GFI report for the user2 email traffic, it does not show that the email even got to the recipient. However, when I check the report for the user1 it does show that the email successfully got transfered. It looks like it is getting hung up in GFI somewhere. Any ideas?

thekingme, How is your environment configured? If a message is delivered it should show up in Exchange Message Tracking even if GFI MailEssentials 12 blocked the message. If you are trying to find out why a message has not been delivered I would recommend enabling logging for each spam module. This will enable you to look through the module logs for the missing message. Each GFI MailEssentials module may be configured to record all blocked emails to a log file. This can be enabled as follows: - Open the GFI MailEssentials configuration.
- Expand ‘Anti-Spam’ and click on the module you want to enable logging for.
- Click on ‘Properties’ and select the ‘Other’ tab.
- Enable ‘Log occurrence to this file’.
- Configure the path to the log file or leave as default.
- Repeat steps 2 - 6 for all the modules you want to enable logging for.
Notes: - The log files are comma delimited files, with the following columns:
- Date
- Time
- Module
- Sender
- Recipient
- Subject of mail
- Action
- Blocked reason
- The values that can be found in the ‘Blocked reason’ field are documented at KBID001896

thekingme, Not a problem. Let me know what you find through the module logging.

I enabled the logging on just about every module under the "Anti-Spam" section at about 9am this morning. It is now 2:46pm and several emails have been sent today to a staff member from our client and they haven't got to him. I checked all the log files and performed a search based on the first part of his email address and none of the logs show anything regarding emails being blocked from his email address. Any ideas?

rjanzen, I would suggest contacting support at http://support.gfi.com/supportrequestform.asp so we can go through logs and attempt to see where these messages are being held.
