Status: offline 		I know the answer to this question would depend on many factors but, I am going to ask anyway to get an idea what others are seeing. I have my Windows 2003 domain controller (contains all FSMO roles for the domain) in the default "Windows 2003 Domain Controllers" group. In the last 7 days, that one server has generated over 1,355,000 events. I have around 180 users in my domain mostly working a standard 8 to 5 shift. Does that sound excessively high to anyone or would a number in that vicinity be expected?

Domain Controllers can be rather 'chatty' when we look at the event logs. That number doesn't seem very odd.  There is a lot of noise that can be filtered with our noise reduction rules, which will help tremendously.
