We have an issue where a PDC in a remote location went down sometime last night. I have email alerts configured for every fifteen minutes to assure an alert isn't going to get missed. Everyone in the global list now has about fifty emails about this thing in our Inboxes and no one can get to the site until Monday.
When a device is down, an option to automatically change the fifteen minutes to hourly alerts would be nice. :-)
Thanks for listening,
Ray

Ray,
A workaround for the issue that you have mentioned is to send one notification email only once when the server goes offline, and another notification when the server goes online.

Would assigning a maint. window over the weekend also keep the pages to a minimum? If an alert is scheduled to go off every 15 min., would a maint. window interrupt that cycle if it was already started?

Network Server Monitor will not send any notifications during the maintenance period. It is assumed that during the maintenance period, the servers will be rebooted, and therefore the rules will fail during this period. [ May 13, 2004, 11:43 AM: Message edited by: nicks ]
