Hello:

I am moving the GFI MailArchiver 6 from a Windows 2003 SBS server to a new Windows 2008 R2 standalone server. The new server is a member of the domain. I have already moved the databases from SQL 2000 on the SBS server to SQL 2005 on the Windows 2008 R2 server. Following the instructions in KBID003025 (Moving GFI MailArchiver to a new server), I have copied the GFI MailArchiver folder to the same location on the new server. However, when I go to install GFI MailArchiver on the new server I receive the following message:

"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel".

What needs to be installed here? This server will not be running Exchange, just GFI and SQL Server 2005.

When you installed IIS, did you install the SMTP component as well?

Install the MAPI/CDO package from here:
