Okay, so...

We currently use GFI Mail Archiver for our Exchange 2003 org but we are merging with another organisation that has Exchange 2007 deployed
Our users mailboxes will be migrated over a period of several months
The archive server will remain in our domain until a substantial number of mailboxes have been moved
We want to continue archiving mail for all of our users - so we'll connect to and archive from a journal mailbox in both forests / mail orgs
We want users to have access to all of their archived mail regardless of which mail org it was archived from

... what needs to happen?

To illustrate:
A two-way trust exists between DomA and DomB
DomA\UserA has objectGUID AAAAA and has access to all UserA's archived mail
S/he gets migrated to DomB
DomB\UserA has objectGUID BBBBB

What changes do I need to make so that DomB\UserA has access to both newly archived mail from DomB and previously archived mail from DomA?

You will need to update the arc_owners table to reflect the changes. Look in table arc_users for the same user in both domains. Then update the arc_users with the new uerid.

I am going thru the same process here.

Cheers

Hi
Glad to help.
Got a question, are these two domains in the same forest or in different forests.

If in 2 different forests how have you managed for the users in the forest that does not have MARC access their before and after mail archives?

There are two completely separate forests and we are at the planning stage only so this hasn't even been through the lab... the forest we are joining doesn't have MARC - although we will participate in their mail org we will still be effectively an independent business unit (our mail will reside on our own servers in their mail org) and our requirement for journaling / archiving needs to be met with our own solution.

Referring to the scenario above... when we build the new mail servers in DomB (ForestB) we'll setup a new journal mailbox and on our existing archive server we'll specify a set of ForestB credentials to use to archive from the ForestB mailbox.

Before s/he's migrated to DomB the user DomA\UserA is represented in the archive as UserA@MailA.org
After s/he's migrated she'll also be represented as UserA@MailB.org - unless I've misunderstood how this works.

The problem I have then is - what do I need to do to ensure that when DomB\UserA logs into the Web Interface s/he has access to the mail archived from both Mail orgs?
