Lately we've noticed a problem when pushing missing patches to Server 2008 servers.  During our June and July patch outages, we've pushed the patches scanned as missing, with restart, and follow-up scans have agreed that the patches were installed.

However, Windows/Microsoft Update still shows "New Updates are available" for the same patches that were just pushed.  This only seems to happen with our 170 Server 2008 servers, but not our Server 2003 servers.  I assume there is a difference in the way that the packages are pushed to Server 2008 servers.  Is there a GFI logfile on the client that I can look at to verify that the patches ARE being installed, aside from follow-up scans?

The log files within GFI Network Security Scanner are difficult at best to decipher.  Are you noticing any of the missing patches are also included on this list of supported patches by GFI? http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/msfullreport.htm

I see at least KB950582 from your list on a quick scan several of my servers.

The other ones I commonly see are 955020 and 951978 plus the Malicious Software Removal Tool for July.

With Server 2008 being relatively new to our product, I would recommend opening a support ticket at http://support.gfi.com so we can take a detailed look at your log files.   My only other thought is that it could be permissions related.
