We have several rules per folder (server). All systems are operational 100% of the time, but I have one rule that I have -not- inherited the maintenance interval for. This service is not operational from 21:00 - 06:00. Even though I have this set, the rule still runs and sends an event notification indicating failure. How can this be resolved?

Hi,

Are you using the latest build?

A similar issue was fixed in the latest build.

Thanks and regards,

I'm using version 6.0, Build 20050224. I've reinstalled a time or two to see if that would resolve the issue.

My server is set to the correct time zone.

This continues to be an issue. I just added another service with a maintenance time. I'll monitor this evening and see if it fails as well.

We can confirm that there are issues with the maintenance periods on non English OS. (and different timezones).
This is on the list of fixes to do for the next release.

Cheers,
Calin

Yesterday I updated to the latest 6.0 build. I have other rules that have maintenance intervals and they seem to be working without issue. This one rule, which has a maintenance time from 21:00 to 06:00 always generates a failure notive a little after 23:00. The service that is being monitored is being stopped at 21:00 every night. This check is to run every 3 minutes and notify after 3 failed attempts. So, not only do I not understand whe it's triggering a failure, I don't know why it's taking 2+ hours to do so...

Also, as far as I know, I'm running the English version and all of our systems are currently set to Eastern Standard Time (US). I hope this eliminates any thought that this is related to a know bug.

I have also have trouble with maintenance time.

I have configured maintenance starting at 16:00 and lasting until 08:00 next day.

NSM do not perform this correctly. It starts monitoring again at 22:00 for one hour before it goes into maintenance again at 23:00 lasting until 07:00 instead of 08:00.

Hi,

Can you try running a report for that check, and find out if Network Server Monitor is processing that check during the maintenance period?

Also, what notification method are you using? If you are using email notification, could it be that the email was queued for delivery, and therefore delayed?

Any news on the issue reported above that was confirmed to NOT be a time zone error? Thanks!

Hi,

We have identified the issue that was causing the problem in the Maintenance Period of Network Server Monitor. You can download the fix for this from ftp://ftp.gfisoftware.com/temp/2005_04_06_01_NSMEngine6.zip

Use this procedure to update the fix.

1. Stop GFI Network Server Monitor 6 Engine service
2. Replace file NSMEngine6.exe in the GFI Network Server Monitor directory (keep backup of current version)
3. Start GFI Network Server Monitor 6 Engine service
4. Check to ensure that the issue has been resolved.
