I just got the email announcing release of the full version of ME 14. Any here install it yet?  Should I install now or wait a while?  I'd love to get some feedback before I make the change. It sounds like a dramatic upgrade.

I would also like to know if anyone else has installed it. Last I heard it was Beta 2 is this an official release?

Edit: wow not even any mention of it in the build and version information thread... I don't think I will be installing this anytime soon!

I successfully upgraded from v12 to v14 - build 20080915 this afternoon.  Upgrade process was smooth and exactly like other build upgrades in the past.  I spent a minute after the install looking at the SpamRazor engine configuration, and have spent the last hour marveling at the new dashboard which finally provides enough information to be useful.  Very nice.

I run ME and MS on the same IIS SMTP server, so I'm now considering the eventual redeployment onto a Windows 2008 x64 server (virtual of course).  Curious whether the x64 platform will increase overall mail processing performance.

Disregard - I found the instructions - you have to click on the "EN" not the actual name of the instructions - its a little confusing GFI.

No, I actually read through the v14 installation guide prior to the upgrade.  The v14 documentation is available right along with the download.  The ability to upgrade production license codes is also available in the customer area.

I have also successfully upgraded from v12 to v14 - build 20080915 this morning.  Upgrade process was smooth and exactly like other build upgrades in the past.  I spent a minute after the install doing the SpamRazor engine configuration.  So far it is all running OK and no nasty surprises, 10/10.

Hi mofo75ca,

I can confirm that MailEssentials 14 has been officially released. The build and version information thread has been updated to reflect this.

Thank you.

I went for it and upgraded to ME 14 this morning. Install went easy like folks have said. No troubles to report. I like the dashboard. Wish the spamrazer wasn't an extra fee module.

@Charlie IT

First year free, then they nail you with extra licensing costs for that module.  The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to set this module at the bottom of the priorities.  That way you don't rely on it for SPAM filtering, so when licensing comes up, you don't need to buy it.

Working fine here too.  The only issue I have so far is that the GUI for the dashboard doesn't remember the Windows Normalize/Maximize settings nor the column widths from the last session - this should be programmer 101 - how this was overlooked it just plain goofy to me.

Will my ME12 license work or do I have to purchase an upgrade?

Thanks.

It  might depend on your licensing, but all I had to do is going throught he UI int he customer area and "upgrade" my license from 12 to 14 and it worked fine.  You'll have something like 30 days before the licensing enforcement kicks in anyway.  But it is a one way trip - GFI warns you that you can go back to 12 after upgrading your license to 14.
