Hello, since upgrading to 14.1 we have massive problems with some mails not being sent out via our MSX 2003 Server (Server is Windows 2003 Server), as an example, the WSUS Update Status Mail, generated by the WSUS Server is not able to sent, I can't say for sure, if it's related to the upgrade, but it right started *after* the upgrade and it's gettin' a problem. Please tell me where I can get the 14 Version for downgrading, and please advise the best way for downgrading. Thanks, Dirk

Hi, I have similar problems with undeliverable e-mail since I upgraded to MailEssentials 14.1. Some e-mails stick in the queue. I get event id 4006 smtpsvc (The connection was dropped by the remote host). This problem started with MailEssentials 14.1. We use Windows Server 2003 R2 with the latest patches installed as gateway with MailEssentials 14.1 and Mail Security 10 (without another Antivirus solution on installed this server). Is there any solution for this problem? Best regards, Susanne

@ Susanne: Good to know, that I am not the only one. @ RSP: Thanks for the offer, the version I would like to have, is the last one before 14.1 @ GFI: Would it be possible to get some sort of reaction asap, as this seems to be a serious issue, and I would like to avoid downgrading and possible sideeffects, instead getting a solution. It allready costs me, and my customer some hours! If you need more infos just tell me. Thanks, Dirk

Email me and I'll send you a link. I'm unsure if it was the last, but it's recent: build 20090211

@RSP: Thanks! Support Request sent, Troubleshooter files are uploading right now. One "strange" thing I investigated. The Status Mail sent out directly by our WSUS Server is failing *everytime*, but, when I resend the mail, which is included in the NDR-Mail I get after some hours, directly from my Admin Outlook Account, it works, even if the mail, for my feeling (same with others btw) stuck way too long in the smtp queue. regards, Dirk

In the meantime I found out, that if I deactivate MailEssentials using the Switchboard the e-mails go through without problems. After having reactivated MailEssentials and sent the same e-mails again they stick in the queue again. I can confirm this. Edit: And *all* mails will sent out immediately, without being in the queue for a while. With ME activated, even the "working" mails, stuck in the SMTP queue longer then before. Dirk

Dirk Downgrading is probably not as easy as it sounds, but the method I'd try is: Document the setup, uninstall ME v14.1, backup the configuration files that are left and reboot, install v14, check everything works. If it doesn't work, uninstall, clear the Mail Essentials folder, install v14, manually reconfigure as per the documented setup.

Hi Everyone, I opened a case request last wednesday. So far there is no solution for the problem. I received an e-mail yesterday in the evening (UTC +2:00 Germany) with the following information: "The issue is being worked on by our developers at the moment. So far it is not really clear what causes the issue. It is not even sure if the problem is caused by the disclaimer. I just got another customer with the same issue. He made an interesting discovery: In his sample email he had an single full stop in one line. Once he removed this the email got delivered. My guess now is that the issue is related to the new 100% unicode support of MailEssentials 14.1. There is nothing similar in the samples you sent me though. At the moment I see no other solution than keeping the disclaimer deactivated (as it seems to resolve your problem) and use another disclaimer like an extended foot-note in Outlook. I'll keep you informed as soon as I find out more." I kept the disclaimer deactivated and the e-mails go through without problems. Best regards, Susanne

Anyway, even this issue needs a fix asap, as for law reasons my customer needs to have some informations in his disclaimer, and I am not willing to tell him, to do this locally on all Outlook Installations ... I will do a check tommorrow if it's makes a difference, not using german special chars in the disclaimer ... I'll let u know then. reagrds, Dirk
