I've got a problem here with the latest LNSS 8.0 software when deploying patches last night. I've only got about 90 machines on our network and when I went to deploy the patches, only about 5 of them got the patches and the rest of them came up with the red error message:
"unhandled exception while deploying patches on this machine: access violation at address 4003d830 in module 'vcl90.bpl' Read address of 0000011".
So I decided to reboot my languard 2000 server and try again but this time after trying to deploy to the paches, it would get to about 5 or 6 machines and then the system would simply hang or freeze. This is a fresh install of LNSS 8.0..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. I find that the system doesn't freeze if you only deploy 5 patches at a time. I only have 15 - 25 machines that need patches each day, so it's not too bad except on patch tuesday when i have to patch 400-500 machines. I have tried setting the deployment threads at 1 or 2 but that doesn't make any difference.

I'm facing same issue with LNSS 8 installed in a win 2003 server & while it was not the case when I run LNSS 8 from a win XP pro machine. Did you get this issue resolved in the references: 152418 - Maxtor and 152422 - BobOhio???

Not yet. I have been deploying to 5 systems at a time without problems pretty consistently.
