Hey all, I have a question in regards to the keyword checker. I have had some Viagra emails come in, but while looking at them and trying to add more keywords and get them caught, I'm not sure how best to configure the keyword filter for it. My question specifically is on V ia gr a. There would be other text before and after it. In the keyword filter I put "V ia gr a" (specifically with the quotations around it). When I tested it a few minutes ago they come through right into my mailbox. When I'd compose the email WITH the quotes around it, it gets caught. When I compose it without the quotes around it with other text, it comes through. When I remove the quotation points from around the entry in keyword checking module, it still comes through no problem. My question is...what's the best way to keyword filter this type of text? I do have the match whole words/phrases only box checked. If someone could explain it it a bit, that'd be helpful! My thought on when I use the quotations around the text I want to block will make sure that any email with that particular bit of text in the email will be caught. But my testing shows otherwise... Not sure how best to use or if I should at all, quotation marks around text I want blocked. Thanks!

Quotation marks appear to be part of the word when matching whole words, so leave them out in this case. Other modules, such as SPF, are filtering these for me.

Ytsejamer1, I would recommend training the Bayesian filter for these messages instead of dealing with the keyword checking module. These are the types of messages that the Bayesian filter works best on.

Thanks guys for the response. I'd tried looking into training for the Bayesian filter, and read a few online GFI KB articles, but it really didn't help me. I created a mailbox that all bayesian filtered spam goes into. Past that I'm not sure how else to train it. Any suggestions? Thanks again!

Yep...about ten minutes after posting, i looked through the manual and got the public folder scanning thing going. So far just by asking around, people seem to be receiving less spam.
