I've read the in the manual about role based deployment but the setup file I've downloaded from the site does not provide that option
How can I make such configuration ?
I'd like to install the search/index service on the SQL server .
thanks
Stefano

Hi Stefano,

The setup file you downloaded includes support for role-based deployment. Install GFI MailArchiver as normal on all the machines where you'd like to deploy it and then run the Deployment Manager Wizard on each machine which is found in <Program Files Directory>\GFI\MailArchiver\DM\deploymentmanager.exe.

I strongly recommend that you check out Chapter 5 of the GFI MailArchiver Getting Started Guide of which you can find the Italian version here as there are specific steps you need to follow.

Regards,

Brian - GFI

Hi Brian ,
I've read the getting started manual .
I've a question about storage and search/index roles.
According to the deployment scenarios the storage and index roles are installed on a server separate from the sql server .
I don't understand this well. I supposed that the storage role would have better be installed on the sql server itself , and so the search/index server

thanks
Stefano
