This bug has existed for many releases and versions of MailEssentials. I've always worked around it but thought I'd take a moment to report it. The installation program will not register the inboundsink event sink if there's another even sink registered with a higher priority than 20. I run MailBasketMD and its even sink needs to run prior to MailEssentials. Whenever there's a new MailEssentials upgrade the ME install program successfully uninstalls/de-registers the inboundsink event sink but it won't re-register the new one. I have to do that manually. It's a minor inconvenience and I sometimes forget until the spam starts flying into my inbox. It would be great if this could be fixed at some point.

Do you get any error messages during the installation? What priority does the MailBasketMD sink have? Thank you.

No, no error messages during install. Everything appears to work as expected. (Execpt that the GFI inboundsink doesn't register.) I have the MailBasketMD sink set at priority 19 so it runs before the GFI inboundsink at priority 20.

Hi, I doubt that the problem is caused by the sink installed by MailBasketMD. We have another product - GFI MailSecurity - which also installs a sink at priority 10. We never had problems running both products on the same machine. On your next upgrade, can you send us %temp%\install.log ? This should show us what is causing the sink not to install. Please send it to forums@gfi.com. Thank you.

BTW, I did have MailSec installed at one point but the eval period expired and I removed it just prior to installing the MailEssentials upgrade.
