Are the indicies in MA6 consuming much more disk space than on the prior release?

Hi, No, there is no additional data being indexed in GFI MailArchiver 6 than it was in GFI MailArchiver 5. The only changes are in the Indexer module per se so that it is more robust in handling troublesome conditions. Thanks and kind regards, Joseph D'Emanuele GFI Software Ltd

K - when I rebuild the indicies, there is a directory created (index0) which is approximately 400% of the size of the underlying database. The index compaction tool fixes this, but I have limited disk space and this causes difficulty in getting the indexes up and running.

Hi, the folder Index0 is introduced in GFI MailArchiver 5 Service Release 1. There can be up to 10 of these folders per index. The purpose of these are to store temporary indexes which will be merged during the night to the main index. You should not touch these indexes as it may mis align the indexes during merge operations. Thanks and regards, Joseph D'Emanuele GFI Software Ltd
