Last weekend we started receiving faxes in a public folder. FAXMaker works like a charm for like 90% of the incoming faxes, but a few are totally unreadable. Here is an example which GFI attaches to the mail in the public folder. http://www.2ict.nl/downloads/pdf5456c.pdf Does anyone know why this is? Is there a setting we overlook? Some specs: Windows 2003 Server standard, GFI Faxmaker V12, build 20051222, US Robotics Analog modem, 1 line. Thanks alot in advance, kind regards, Erwin Bruinink.

While US Robotics modems are excellent devices for data transmission, unfortunately their fax capability has proven with time to be highly unreliable. I would suggest that you visit our knowledgebase at http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID001220 for a list of supported devices. Thank You!

Hi Mark, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately none of the modems listed are available in the Netherlands. If you know a device that is available in the Netherlands, can you recommend me one? Do you have experience with cases where USR modems make those faxes unreadable? Thank you!

Well, i can confirm that the devices which are listed in the Kbase article are able to work perferctly with GFI FaxMaker 12. The best is that you contact the Fax Card Company Directly, to determine if there is any local reseller. Thank You!

Ofcourse they do, otherwise they wouldn't be listed i presume. The problem is, we cannot get those cards here in the Netherlands. FYI: we are a reseller, somtimes it works with the modems we supply, and sometimes it doesn't. Thank you for your assistance! Small update, after 1 hour of googling and making phonecalls i found a reseller in the netherlands for MultiTech modems. The company selling them is: Dupaco in Leusden. www.dupaco.nl

We have the same problem and we're using a supported modem, the Mainpine OCTO+ analog board. We have one customer who is starting to become very irtitated with us because we're always asking them to re-send they're faxes becuase of scrambled pages. So far support has been un-able to correct this issue. What do I do to fix this.

Maybe a little late, but better late than never :p ; The problem was the modem. We are now using Multitech modems for all our analogue line customers, and they work like a charm.

Happy new year I have parched FaxMaker 12 from my company ,install it on Windows 2003 server (HP ML350) with two (UsRobotics) analog modems one usb and other serial. All worked perfect but when send me a large fax more than 3 pages (not all about 80% of incoming faxes),same pages was scramble and totally unreadable. I start to search GFI support to find the same answer from my problem. I show erwinb message at [Messaging] forum (exactly the same
.pdf5456c.pdf) and I buy a serial multitech modem. I install it to fix my problem but not , now with new modem about 60% off more than 4 pages incoming faxes was scramble. Thanks a lot in advance Sorry for my English Nikolaidis Michalis
