I need a hint for the following problem: From an external webmail account I send me (test@domain.de) a mail using only BCC. This mail is given to our ISP who collects all mail for domain.de in a single mail account named mailmaster@domain.de. Pop2Exchange loads the mail and delivers it this way: The MailEssentials Monitor shows this line: Empfänger: mailmaster@domain.de, test@domain.de Pop2Exchange and GFI MailEssentials and MailSecurity run on a gateway. Mails are forwarded to our exchange server on a separate machine. The mail occurs in the postbox of test@domian.de as expected. The problem is: A NDR is sent to the original sender and tells him, that the delivery to mailmaster@domain.de was not successful. Obviously the two adresses are extracted out of the for clause in the mail header (real adresses manipulated): Microsoft Mail Internet Headers Version 2.0 Received: from gateway.domain.de ([xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]) by exchange.domain.de with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.3959); Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:36:10 +0200 Received: from mail pickup service by gateway.domain.de with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:36:09 +0200 Return-Path: <XXSenderXX@gmx.de> Delivered-To: mailmaster@domain.de Received: from localhost (localhost [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]) by tiepolo.equinoxe.de (Postfix) with ESMTP id A4CAD106773 for <mailmaster@domain.de>; Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:36:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from tiepolo.equinoxe.de ([xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]) by localhost (tiepolo.equinoxe.de [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id CoheQG9hIORm for <mailmaster@domain.de>; Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:36:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.gmx.net (mail.gmx.net [213.165.64.20]) by tiepolo.equinoxe.de (Postfix) with SMTP id 71B371067D2 for <test@domain.de>; Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:36:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: (qmail 15225 invoked by uid 0); 29 Sep 2008 08:35:58 -0000 Received: from 80.137.205.249 by www140.gmx.net with HTTP; Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:35:58 +0200 (CEST) Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2008 10:35:58 +0200 From: "XXSenderXX" <XXSenderXX@gmx.de> Has anyone else encountered this effect? I currently use ME 14, and I have no information if this happend with ME 12 before. I would appreciate any hint how to deal with this problem. Thanks

Hi, Are both mailmaster@domain.de and test@domain.de in the same domain (They seem to be, but thought of confirming this, since you are using fake domains) Also, does the email address mailmaster@domain.de exist on your internal mail server? Thank you.

Hello Nicks, both mailmaster@domain.de and test@domain.de are in the same domain. The address test@domain.de is used as the address of a real user. It is configured in our internal mail server together with the user account in Active Directory. The address mailmaster@domain.de is only the mailbox at our ISP to collect all incoming mail for domain.de. It is not existing in our internal mail server (causing the NDR). Hope this helps you to give me a hint. Thanks
