Hi. I am hoping that someone could point out what it is I am doing wrong here as I am at my wits ends.

We have an Exchange 2003 Server with SP2 running on Win2k Standard Ed. with SP2, using MailArchiver 5 eval. on a remote server within the domain cannot seem to connect to the journaling mailbox using the IMAP protocol.

The IMAP service is enabled and starts automatically on the Exchange server but whenever we try to to connect to the journaling mailbox the error "Data Sources: Cannot open data source. Additional info: Connection closed." appears.

Has anyone experience this issue before, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Please try to connect to the Exchange server from the MAR machine using telnet on port 143.

Well - you see that the connection is dropped by the Exchange.
Open Exchange System Manager, navigate to your server -> protocols -> imap. Make sure that the default IMAP virtual server is started and then check its properties ("Access" tab)

The access list was blank. It was one the place that I had overlook, IP address of MAR added and everything now works.

Thanks very much for your Rodion.
