We are experiencing trouble with a number of W2K machines running IE6. When connecting to the MA4 (or 5) UI, IE will crash, citing a problem with jscript.dll. Our engineers have not so far been able to clear the problem by normal means. Only the MA interface causes the crash.
Can you suggest anything?

Hello AMacdonald,
Previously I have seen such errors when Internet Explorer was out of date.
Are you sure all the patches for IE 6 are present?

We probably have a range of patches installed. What patch level should we expect to be at for MA?

Hello AMacdonald,
Unfortunately I can't tell you the exact patch level. Is it possible to update IE 6 as much as possible if only to exclude the patch level from causing the issue?
Besides this, I would also advise you to check the 'Security' settings under the Internet Options. If you have added MailArchiver to the 'Trusted Websites' (if you haven't done this yet please do so) please check the security level you have configured for this group and if you allow the use of scripts.

After a day of experimentation, the problem was introduced by the MS cumulative hotfix pack for IE6 SP1 on W2K, KB925454. I've checked some subsequent packs and they all seem to display the same problem. Uninstalling KB925454 from workstations cures the issue.
