HELP !! LANguard auto-install IE8 on all user PCs, I don't want to go to all user PCs and uninstall one by one manually.

Today as usual, I run a scan & deploy those MS-xxx buletin patches. After that, all users had Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) installed on their PCs and overwrite IE6. I do not what to install IE8, I can't find the IE8 in the LANguard patches to uninstall it.

From the user => control Panel => Add/Remove Software, I can see "Windows Internet Explorer 8", but I can't find in the LANguard?

The most relevant that trigger this IE8 install may due to this MS09-045 patch, which had the IE8 on its name?

For JScript 5.8 on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3:
IE8-Windowsxp-kb971961-x86-enu /norestart

Some users find that this works to help uninstall / rollback IE8:

%windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe /quiet /norestart /log:G:\%computername%\ie8uninstall.log
Shutdown -r -f -t 30 -c “Reboot for Internet Explorer 8 Uninstall”

It would be copied into a .BAT file and deployed using Custom Software deployment. Ideally test this on a machine first before deploying to all machines as it could have varying rates of success in your network. This is not a script generated by GFI, but found from this site: http://tehtech.com/all-about-internet-explorer-8-uninstallrollback-script/

Can I use LANGUARD to copy files from the user PC to network drive?

I created a COPYFILE.BAT, and use Custom Software to push, but nothing happened:
copy C:\Data\n*.ID P:\

If I run this batch file from my PC, it work.

You can do this, however under the custom software deployment, make sure you are using Alternative Credentials.
