Same here, I have configured webmon with no messages to users when try to download a file such as executable file

"GFI WebMonitor notification: Blocked filetype - Configured."

GFI WebMonitor blocked url request: http://domain.com/file.exe
From: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx domain\user
Received size: 512 Bytes.
WebServer advised Content-Length:61257200
WebServer advised Content-Type: application/x-msdos-program
Reason: Real data file type: Executable is configured to be blocked with above parameters in GFI WebMonitor configuration.

The content you tried to download breached a GFI WebMonitor 4 download control policy, and thus was blocked..

Correct: before version/build   20081001  you had to clear notification text in order to stop sending notification emails to user who breached Download Control Rule.
It was a bug from our side and we fixed it.

With Kind Regards DavidF

You are still getting this notification as you dont have GFI WebMonitor build equal or newer than 20081001.
You can check this in "Version Information" node.

We should soon release 4.1 ~ thursday so please wait for that or install beta (link can be found in another forum post).

My suggestion: for now, just delete notification context from WM policy and save it.

At the end of this week or next week we will post link to new GFI WebMonitor 4.1. Upgrade is free for curent customers as this is subscription based software.

Regards DavidF
