Exmerge

I am using exmerge to get the users email into a PST file.

My Archive box is called ARCHIVE so I them rename the PST from username.pst to archive.pst then i run exmerge again to move that pst into the archive mailbox.. It seem to work ok.. but is tedious.

You may alternatively create public folder (with post only permissions) and ask users to copy their messages directly to that folder. Then configure Exchange to archive to that folder, MailArchiver will pick up new location and archive all messages.

Ok thanks.. That is a good idea as well...

The exmerge is working ok for me with one exeption.

A lot of these users have many subfilders to their inbox and other folders thay ahve created in their mailbox as well. Is there anyway to make the archiver parse all the folders in the archive box?

That would be a huge help

Thanks
Greg

No

MailArchiver was designed to work with MS Ecxhange journaling that delivers messages to inbox only

Rodin, you wrote: "You may alternatively create public folder (with post only permissions) and ask users to copy their messages directly to that folder. Then configure Exchange to archive to that folder,..."

There is no way to activate archiving on public folders (in EX2K) ... ?

Yes, that's right. But I wrote "configure to archive to" but not "configure archiving on"

The idea is to make MailArchiver collect messages posted directly by users and not by Exchange Journaling.

Please note that all discussed above is just a workaround. MailArchiver does not directly support export from existing archives
