I'm demoing your product, as a possible alternative to what we have now, which is Shavlik.  I just ran a scan with each product, on the same box.  There was one update that was found in Shavlik, but not in LANGuard.  I went through the approval screen for LANGuard, and found the bulletin number, but not the Q number.  The specific Q Number is 973544, for Bulletin ID MS09-035 - Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64).

Any idea why LANGuard didn't detect this?

Thanks,

Joe

This is a patch that we do support and should have detected:
http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/msfullreport.htm#MS09-035

What build of GFI Languard are you currently using? Also, from the "Program Updates" section do you see the current Patch Database version?

As an evaluating customer you are entitled to technical support as well if you would like to contact us at http://support.gfi.com/Support/support.aspx?lcode=en

If you go to Program Updates -> Check for Updates -> and download any updates, then scan again, does this patch show up?

Ok, so I did the update, selecting the box to download the updates even if they'd already been installed.  Ran the scan on the machine again, and no luck, it did not find that the machine needed this update.

Can you open a support request with us online at http://support.gfi.com/Support/support.aspx?lcode=en so we can investigate further?
