hello folks, I'm having a very recurrent problem with a client who uses MSEC & ME on Exchange 2003. All in one box. Trouble starts when internal mails just sit in the queues and then all mail stops going. Days of troubleshooting lead to; -lots of mails in FailedMails -a few over 1MB messages in the exchange queues. -a straight un-install of MSEC seems to sort the prob I decided to do a reinstall instead and this also seemed to work. More headaches later on let me to the pfi.dll file which gets refreshed by the reinstall. my work-around now is to just save a cpoy of this file from a fresh install and when trouble calls(messages dumped into FailedMails, no sending or receiving works), i just kill MSEC, replace this file and restart. everything goes back to normal. my confusion is: what is the work of pfi.dll as far as scanning and releasing messages goes? does MSEC have a message size limit? how can i prevent this file from getting corrupted every now and then? any pointers appreciated john
