Trying to use the API with Faxmaker 12. Using code that has worked in the past with earlier versions of Faxmaker. Now, on the "sendfax" method, getting a "Generic error. Error: C-0001". Faxmaker seems to work fine when sending through Word, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

I encountered the same issue when I upgraded to FaxMaker12 running on an Exchange 2003 server.  I resolved the issue with the following two changes.

1) Check for the following registry entry on the client computer:
       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\GFI FAX & VOICE
This entry should contain the following
       Intranet
           faxmailbox        REG_SZ            <youraccount@domain.com>
           sender             REG_SZ            <youraccount@domain.com>
           SenderName     REG_SZ            <Your Name>
smtp               REG_SZ            <The name of your SMTP Server>
           smtp_account   REG_SZ
           smtp_password REG_SZ
           smtp_useauth   REG_DWORD      0x00000000 (0)
           smtp_userpa     REG_DWORD      0x00000000 (0)
           smtp_usessl      REG_DWORD      0x00000000 (0)
           smtpport          REG_DWORD      0x00000019 (25)

After making these changes the error changed to 'Send Failed!' Error C-0007.  This error was due to a 550 Relay Denied error.

2)    To correct the 550 Relay error -
On the exchange server Open Exchange System Manager
            Locate Servers --> <Your Server> - Protocols --> SMTP
Right Click on Default SMTP Virtual Server Click Properties
Click the 'Access' Tab then click the 'Relay' button
Grant access to either the computer address or network subnet that is trying to send the fax.

The Fax should send properly thru the API

Hope this helps.

John

Did you get any other errors along with the c-0001 error?  What is the build of the FAXmaker fax message form in use (help, about).  Do you see any specific errors under the FAXmaker Client\logs directory?

You might want to try upgrading to a later FAXmaker fax message form (ftp.gfi.com -> faxclient.exe).
