Hi, we are using the GFIMailArchiver 4 and since 14th of january(microsoft update day), the backup isn't growing anymore. Oh, and by the way, it's the german version, so I try to translate the messages for you ;) I get the mails from gfi: "GFI MailArchiver failed to transfer the archived emails into the backend database." When I am on the configuration page of the mailarchiver -> archivstore und go through "edit settings" of one store I get after some clicks of "next"(If you need translation, write me... ) : -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No connection was possible, because the target computer denied the connection 127.0.0.1:8018 Beschreibung: Unbehandelte Ausnahme beim Ausführen der aktuellen Webanforderung. Überprüfen Sie die Stapelüberwachung, um weitere Informationen über diesen Fehler anzuzeigen und festzustellen, wo der Fehler im Code verursacht wurde. Zikan, From the command prompt please run netstat -abno >C:\ports.txt and then post all of the lines that are using :8018 please. It sounds like another application may be using this port.

----------------------------------------------- As you can see, there is no programm or service using this port. What exactly does the MailArchiver want to connect at the moment I open the MailArchiver URL? I mean 127.0.0.1:8018 is the localhost. So I assume, it wants to connect to exchange on this machine and do a check for new mails to write them into database. Do I have to set some special permissions which we perhaps lost? Where can I configure the port the program is using. I'm asking so many questions, because the problem is our former administrator was fired. And he didn't induct us in the software and configuration...

We solved the problem.. and it was so simple. We already looked in the first place, whether alle GFI services were running. But now, looking a second time, the GFI Mail Archiver Store Service wasn't running. It was set to "manual".. don't know why... Thank you for your help!
