GFI Stops notifying through email

So everyonce in awhile i need to restart the GFI server to get email notifying to work again. I have looked at all the settings and they all seem fine to me. could anyone please help me out with this. thank you in advance.

Upon contacting support for this type of request, I would recommend you enable debug mode:

  1. Set HKLM\SOFTWARE\GFI\EndpointSecurity4\Config\Debug registry key to 1
  2. Restart the GFI EndPointSecurity Service
  3. The configuration would need to be re-opened so that debug logging is saved.
Once done, wait for the issue to happen again.  We would want to examine the Program Files\GFI EndPointSecurity\DebugLogs\EsecService or LogEsecService.   Within this file you will see a module called 'Alerter' most likely.  Hopefully, this information will assist in finding the cause of this trouble.  Please feel free to post an excerpt of those files and we will assist you the best we can.

i actually already have the Debug key set to 1, and i have restarted the service. i have both of the log files. LogEsecService is the only log file that when i search for alerter it comes up.
