Does anyone know why internal mail in which keywords from the keyword checklist are being used are posted in the SPAM box instead of the normal Inbox ? External mail is as defined correct routed and sent to the SPAM box but internal should be handled untouched according to us. Does anyone know ? We are using MailEssential version 12 and have just one Exchange 2003 server running.

Sounds like you do not have your Inbound Email Domains set up correctly. Check it in the properties of General.

laurens, Where is GFI MailEssentials 12 installed on your network? Is this directly on the Exchange server or is this a relay server?

Hi, thanks for the replies. Double checked the inboud Email domains and the are setup correctly. GFI is installed on our Exchange server 2003. This configuration is already running for 2 years without big problems. Yesterday , one of our staff members said that he received a Email adressed to 6 others (all employees, no outside Email adresses) and it was dropped in his _Spam box. GFI Keyword Check Log siad that it contained the keyword 'XXX' so it was moved to the _Spam. Of course i tested it again, sent a new Email with XXX to a colleague and no problem. He received the Email in his Inbox. So why was GFI triggered???? Could it have something to do with Push Mail. I think the orignal mail was made on a PDA. And question: Is internal Email submitted to GFI?

laurens, No, internal email in the environment you outlined would not be scanned by GFI MailEssentials. We operate off of event sinks in your smtp queue and internal messages should never hit this queue as they are all routed directly through Exchange and not external messages. Can you look at the message in question to see if it has full internet headers?

Sorry for my late response. Busy.... I double checked the headers and they are all internal domain addresses. (or somebody included a BCC external address?) My only suggestions is still the PDA which created the orginal message. But that's HTTPS trafic so not subjected to GFI? But we can close this item because it was the first (and only) time this happend. thx
