GFI Faxmaker and Active Directory

I am in the process of procuring GFI faxmaker.  I have a couple of questions regarding GFI.

1.  If I install GFI on the exchange server 2007 will it make changes to the Active Directory to deliver inbound faxes? 
2.  If I installed GFI on a standalone how would the inbound faxes be delivered to the intended recipients.

2. It will use your own exchane server to relay the messages to the users. Much like any incoming emails
