If it isn't already, I would like a feature to be added to the request list for MailSecurity v10: whitelist options.

It would be nice to be able to whitelist domains or sender addresses from any scanning options.  Specifically we have an insurance provider that sends some sort of encrypted emails that the HTML Script Remover keeps taking out.  I would prefer for the HTML Script Remover to be running but just skip the ones from the insurance provider.

Thanks!

If number of requests for a new feature makes a difference, please add me!

Email blocking by Mail Security has caused us no end of grief. It has resulted in work delays because messages don't reach the recipient, and the sender doesn't know. It has caused me to use an old ISP email account to receive files that Mail Security thinks are "dangerous". Sometimes the file content is NOT invalid but Mail Security objects to it anyway*; usually we don't have the time to get traces to document the problem, so we resort to ISP email accounts or FTP. This is really very disruptive and time consuming. If you can move up implementation of this new feature, it would make us very happy.

*The problem I am referring to here is one related to mp3s. Some mp3s, created by some levels of some audio editors, are considered malformed and are blocked by Mail Security. As I said, we were not able to take the time to run special tests to get a trace (the existing trace is always overwritten by the time the missing email message is noticed).

You must be talking about the Aetna secure emails!  I have been battling their support staff to change the way the send out the notifications.  Form what I hear they have problems with anyone running any type of filtering package.

I have been told by GFI support that whitelisting will not be a feature for the security module because spoofing of a whitelisted domain would allow a potential virus/worm past the filter.

What about whitelisting an IP address?

I have a server that sends out 100's of emails to subscribers of a list.....MSEC bogs down while scanning all of these emails, which really don't need to be scanned.

It would really help keep the GFIScanM process from taking over the CPU.

I would like this option added also.

I mean how many builds does it take to get to the center of a GFI whitelist?

The world may never know... 12? 13? 14?

We need more adminstrative control over our own email servers.

We are having the same problem here to. It's not just Aetna either, 4 other companies that we deal with have started doing the same thing, and we are having the same problem. I am going to have to look for another mail security system if there is not going to be a whitelist option or something that will fix this issue soon.

All medical providers are being required to encrypt emails because of govt regulations, so this issue is going to become big....fast!

Hi,

The possible implementation of this feature is currently being discussed in a separate thread. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. We have taken note of what has been discussed below. If you would like to provide additional feedback, kindly do so at http://forums.gfi.com/FEATURE_REQUEST_UPDATE_-_Whitelist/m_900768978/tm.htm.

P.S. this thread will be closed, so that any additional feedback will be provided in one thread.
