Hi,

Is there still an issue as our GFI ME has not had an Anti Phising Update for a good day or so now.

We are based in the UK

The error we get is

Error details: The connection with the server was reset

We are currently on update 868341 for anti phishing

We are running ME 2014 R2 Build 20140627 on a SBS2011 server.

Many thanks

      Hi
Can you check if you have any firewall rules please?

It looks like in your case no updates are being done hence I suspect that updates are failing since the IP addresses of the new servers are different

For hosts used in the update process please whitelist update.gfi.com, updates.gfi.com and meupdate.gfi.com

Anti-Phishing updates still failing for me.

"Error details: The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response"

I'm not seeing anything in the firewall logs that could explain this.

Our company is also seeing failing updates. This appears to be an issue on the side of GFI. I hope they resolve it soon!

Were still getting failed updates. We are using a Server 2008 R2 server for ME.
Are there still issues at GFI?

              Regards,

                Hi
                Updates should be OK now.

Can you check that access update.gfi.com and updates.gfi.com from the GFI MailEssentials server

20 minutes ago the updates started working again. not sure if you/GFI have changed something? I'll keep an eye on them.
                  Regards,
                  Mick.

Last updates was performed on Saturday 17th December at 2am UTC and from then on, updates should have worked.

same here - anti-phishing and the Bayesian Anti-spam engines have failed - please advise.  Thank you.

I actually finally just wandered over here to see what is going on.  I too am still having failed updates.  When I go to the update.gfi.com site listed earlier, I get a standard browser login popup, not sure it that is intended but apparently I *can* get to the site.  My last successful update was the 15th.

Another odd thing is that I can't turn off failed update email notifications or turn off checking.  Changing these settings and clicking "save" just reverts the settings back to checked.

I still need to update to 20 though...

If update.gfi.com shows a login popup then you have access to it, and that is correct functionality.
I would suggest to check your DNS settings, the IPs have updated and they might not refreshed.

New IP Addresses are as follows:
                          34.193.107.69 for software.gfi.com (including spamrazer.gfi.com)
                          34.194.100.70 for update.gfi.com
                          34.194.99.227 for updates.gfi.com (including meupdate.gfi.com, webmonupdate.gfi.com, faxupdate.gfi.com, lnssupdate.gfi.com and oneguardupdate.gfi.com)

If you are running an old operating system Microsoft Windows 2003 check that this hotfix is installed:
                          https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/968730

If you are still experiencing issues I suggest you upgrade to the latest version and if the problem still persists contact GFI Support from

Everything resolves properly, still failing.  I wasn't planning up spending my holiday weekend updating GFI, but I guess that's what I'll be up to.

Same problem here. Emailed warning says "The connection with the server was reset".
Started a week or two ago, no configuration changes have been made on our end in that time so the problem must reside at GFI's end, again.
Bitdefender and spamrazor are getting updates.
Anti-phishing, bayesian and vipre antivirus are failing.
Running on Server 2012 with mailessentials 20.1-build-20160420 and all available patches have been installed, DNS on server is resolving correctly.
