Since last night Ive been getting the failed to check anti=phising updates.  Is the server down? or is it a dns cache?

I had a couple of these yesterday from one installation, but it resolved itself.

If you suspect DNS, try running "ipconfig /flushdns" on the machine. If you're running Microsoft's DNS server, you could try flushing the cached lookups on that too.

IISRESET would be the next step if you still have problems.

I continue to also have this error.  Have restarted all services, iisrest, flush dns cache, rebooted the server.  Either there are old, corrupted signatures or the new signatures on the server are bad.

I am running MailEssentials 12 20080623.

--EDIT--

I fixed the problem.  I navigated to C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\AuAntiPhish2 and found there were a LOT of files starting with rev*  I assumed that these are old update files.  I moved them to another directory and then re-ran the autoupdate.  This time it worked fine.  I put back the old rev* files and the autoupdate failed again.

So I deleted the rev* files and now the autoupdates are working again.  Hope this helps someone else.

as always clearing the dns servers cache and ipconfig /flushdns on the exchange server fixed this for now
