Hello,

Our server was affected by the AVG problem after reboooting the gateway server (MailEssentials & MailSecurity) yesterday morning.  Emails were sent to the FailedMails folder during the whole day.  I fixed the problem last night, renamed the txt files this morning and dropped all the emails into the pickup folder (303mb worth).  I opened the MailEssentials Dashboard and there are several emails with the description of "Processing failed: MonitorOut".  I have received a few emails that were sent out yesterday, so at least some of them are making it through ok.  What am I to do with the ones that are failing now?

Thank you,

Sterner

stener,

Currently we are aware of the issue you are having. We have a knowledge base article that will help explain the issue that is happening, how to resolve it, and how to recover any emails that have not arrived due to the issue. Please find the related KB article: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003557

The two options for resolving your issue per this article are:
1)      Disable the AVG scanning engine if you are no longer receiving updates for this engine
2)      Upgrade to GFI MailSecurity 10 Service Release 9 Build 20090526, this includes update files which resolves the issue.

Ben,

Thanks for the quick reply.  As I stated, I did fix the problem, but that was too fague, sorry:  Last night I upgraded to the latest build and also disabled the AVG engine.  I then followed the instructions on how to recover the failed emails.  This is where the problem lies.  There was over 5,000 total emails that I dropped into the pickup folder.  The system hasn't even made it thru 1000 of them.  MailEssential Dashboard is still having the error of "Processing failed: MonitorOut".  I can't find anything on this error...

Hi sterner,

That error indicates that a plugin of MailEssentials (the Mail Monitoring plugin) is failing to process emails. When MailEssentials fails to process an email, the email is not blocked, and will be sent to destination.

We are not aware of any issues that would cause this problem. You can try disabling mail monitoring in MailEssentials. If the problem persists, pls send your troubleshooting files to GFI support as per http://forums.gfi.com/General_Information/m_900727091/tm.htm
