Can we do a bulk export, or any type of export to PST?  We have over a year's worth of archives, each month on its own SQL database, and we'd like to export an entire month to PST for offsite archiving.

The bulk export tool only exports to XML, at least as much as I can tell.  Any suggestions?

Thanks.

jgonzalez,

You can use the bulk export tool to export the messages with a xml table of contents that allows you to view the messages.  If you want them to go to PST I would suggest creating a mailbox on your server and sending the messages (as originals) to this user and then exporting the messages from Outlook to PST.  If you open the bulk export tool you should have an export options tab that will allow you to set this.

John,

thank you for your response.  While that seems way cumbersome, I suppose it's my only option.

Using the bulk export, how would I extract ALL emails, for ALL users for a given period.  IN my case, I create a mail store (on SQL Server) for every month.  What I'd like to do is extract ALL archived email for a given month, say June 2007, and export that.  How do I form that query?  Is there a wild card I can use?  I see that I can combine queries, but only for "mail sent between xx and xx", but wouldn't that only be mail sent, not mail sent AND received?  or would I have to run the export twice to extract all?  Also, if I were to extract all email for a given period for multiple users, can I still forward that to a SINGLE temp mail box (that is, contain the email for multiple users in a single account)?

Thanks.

After playing around with the queries some, I notice that the result seems to be limited to 5,000 emails.  Is there a way to expand this, or do I have to break up the queries once again?

jgonzalez,

If you take a look at http://ftp.gfisoftware.com/support/GFI_MailArchiver_4-Moving_emails_between_databases.pdf it will go over how to adjust this value.
