Hi, We have rolled out MailArchiver only for few users. Here's how : 1. Open GFI admin console 2. Click 'Archiving and user exclude options' 3. Click 'Archive emails ony for the users listed below' 4. Specified User1, User2, and User3 "only" out of rest of the users. 5. Sent a test email to User3 (configured for archive) and user4(not configured for archive) 6. Logged on as User4 and found that email sent on step # 5 is seen by User4 GFI console. Why ? Why is User4 able to see archives. Observation : User4 is only able to see emails in which he himself and "one of the users configured for archive" is marked for email. He is not seeing emails in which only he is specified as a recipeint. Any clues ?

Hi, I have the same problem. It's because I am testing the GFI MailArchive I intend to configure only one user to be archive. Archive emails only for the users listed below: user1@mydomain.com However I found out that all my users were archived. My version is 5.0 Build No. 20080430

any update in this post? i still have those users that are not supposedly be archived, but then MARC 5 archive their email. please update us. thanks

me too, i can't continue my testing because of this, all users were archived even i only declare just 2 users.... anyone from Admin?

I have a similar problem. We have a 400 user license. GFI MailArchiver states there are 659 Users when I go to the Exclude section. We made an internal decision to not archive 240 email users that are seldom used accounts. This should put us at 419 users - still over our license limit we were going to find another 30 or so users to remove to put us under the 400. I went through the Exclude options and started by selecting Users one at a time to remove - at just over 240 people this was going to take a while, it was quicker for me to type the emails instead of waiting for the users lists to update and entering them one at a time. So instead of using the "User" option in the exlclude I used the "Email" option and typed them out. After this was completed I excepted our License to be 419 in use out of 400 available and still be in the Grace Period until we removed the final 20 to 30 emails. However, to my shock it now states we have 590 users being archived on our 400 user license. Where did the other 171 users come from? Does the email option in exclude not work if anything has been archived prior to your excludes being setup? How can we go about getting back within our license and out of the Grace Period? So I answered part of my question. If you go back and delete the "Email" entered excludes and then use the User lookup feature in Archiver's exclude options it will lower your licensed user count. Now the problem is the time it will take to exclude 170+ users using that slow as hell AD lookup. Is there a faster way to add users to the exclude list?

here also. to make every detailed info as accurate as possible i manually input all the users to be archive (since we're only 30+ users). i chose Archive emails only for the users listed below and manually add the users mailbox. when checking manually my users are 32 and it is correct appears in the licensing Mail enabled users however when checking email thru Conversation>Browse and check if the users that are not in the list to be archive, i was surprised that the system continuously archive their emails. my current version is 5.0 Build Number 20080430 will the latest version of May 8, 2008 fix the issues? please advise us. thanks
