I am new to exchange 2007 and GFI mail security.  Our current setup uses a seperate edge transport server which is part of the domain, and an exchange server.  It was my understanding that GFI Mail security should be installed on the edge transport server rather than the exchange server.  Is this correct, or should it be installed on the exchange server?

Thanks for any insight

jonathancrice,

It can be installed in either location, it is up to you.  If you place it on the edge then it will obviously process messages before they make it to your exchange backend.
