Hi,
I have got a SQL Backend DB tuned up to seven days retention and the Database is on the same servers where GFI events manager is located. But strangely I get massive amounts of DAT files created in the folder GFI Events manager is installed even though the Datbase is seemingly saved within the database MSSQL DATA directory.
This additional DAT  files are saved under D:\GFI\EventsManager 7\Data\Operational\DD\eventsmanager_events

Can somebody point out as to what these files are? and why they are created and can be stopped from being created and what implications will the GFI events manager have by stopping this creation of DAT files?

Would appreciate your early responses and help in this matter.

Cheers
Ska

There is really only one thing that can be addressed by the end user in this scenario.  This issue most commonly happens if the link between the GFI EventsManager service and the Microsoft SQL server are severed for any amount of time.  Most commonly restarting the GFI EventsManager service can assist with this issue.  There may be more serious issues such as your backend database has grown too large.

I strongly recommend any user experiencing this issue ensure they are (1) on the latest build of GFI EventsManager (2) restart the GFI EventsManager service and lastly (3) open a support ticket so we can address why this issue is occuring and assist you before the issue becomes any more serious that it is now.
