Downloading problem - Proxy Error

Hi,

I am using ISA 2006 SP1, with WebMonitor 4. I have a problem with downloading stuff.
 
For example, first you start a download, download finish, and then start AV scan. After all three AV scanners report success you got a option to save file. And this is a problem, when I choose "Save to disk", I got an error page "Page cannot be displayed", Error code: 502 Proxy Error. Login failure: unknown username or bad password (1326).
 
Has anyone had similar prblem?

For clarification, is there anything else about your network of interest in regards to proxy servers? Is you company perhaps a smaller company whose internet access is routed out though a larger parent company's firewall / proxy?  When you visit a website for the first time in the morning, are you prompted for logon credentials?

It's bigger company, over 1000 users. This proxy route traffic to upstream proxy, a then through firewall. In the morning I am not prompted for logon credential.


On the other proxy ISA 2004, I am using WebMonitor 3, it also route traffic through same upstream proxy, and everything works fine with download.

It sounds like with the installation of Webmonitor 4 we are no longer authenticating to the upstream proxy correctly.  Would you verify that the GFI WebMonitor service account has credentials to login to the upstream proxy?  Perhaps changing this service to run under your administrator account may help?

We have the Exact Same problem as Zaacgfi has.

DrewE any ideas?

Basically its ISA 2006 SP1 on Windows 2003 R2 with Webmonitor 4.

The ISA NATs to a firewall and than out to the internet. We can browse websites, but when we try to download a file, after the download is done and the file is scanned we get the error as Zaacgfi does and within the firewall logs we get ISA Server cannot connect to the proxy server 127.0.0.1 because the server requires authentication, either for Web chaining or intra-array communication. HOwever, authntication failed because the specified credentials were incorrect. Check the authentication and try again.

It is clear that it is the authentication been the ISA server and WebMonitor on 127.0.0.1 that is failing.

What can we do?

ISA 2004 with Webmonitor 4 does NOT have this issue.

I work with rishishah and with regards to the problem he explained:

I have tried changing the GFI service so its runs under different account ranging from Local Administrators through to users in our Domain Administrators group and also the Domain Enterprise user but the problem still occured.

Hi,

I have this problem sometime, can you try to set IE for Proxy, not the Autodiscovery, then try to download again but on other location like my documents or desktop.

Just check and it might work with you.

Hi,

I have the same problem and the same configuration - ISA Server 2006 SP1 Enterprise Edition/ Windows Server 2003 SP2 standard/ WebMonitor 4. When i try to save some files the error is generated. Not all files but from some sites.

I have the same problem: my isa 2006 sp1 is a standalone server on w2003sp1 std. Webmonitor 4.  Users on my domain get the same error 502: proxy.
Pease help me..

I believe it would be best if we could analyze the logs within GFI WebMonitor in this situation.  It is likely a configuration issue on the ISA server.  Would you mind opening a support ticket at http://support.gfi.com?
