Hi

I am trying to set up a enviroment for a small webhosting company, they have a tri homed network consisting of Internet, Internal and DMZ.

I know that Webmonitor installs a HTTP listner, and monitors all active connections, however, I was wondering, can I disable it from listening to traffic on the DMZ, or can you tell me if it affects the speed at all for web connections?

Currently the client has around 150 active connections to diffrent websites at any moment in time, I just want to make sure that installing webmonitor will not affect web requests from people accessing the site, and that outbound HTTP traffic from these servers will not be impeded?

Thanks,

Hi,

GFI WebMonitor is very fast at determining which items need to be scanned, and this will go un-noticed to the users.

The users may however notice a delay when GFI WebMonitor is scanning traffice, especially when using the Anti-Virus scanning engines. If the download is scanned in the background, the download will be slow at the beginning, and then the user will receive the file all at once. Alternativly, if the Download Status Window is displayed, the user would be shown the progess of GFI WebMonitor downloading and scanning his download.

Hi,

So, basically, the only time that Web Monitor slows down the connection is during file downloads.. Serving web pages to normal outside guests will not be affected at all.

Thank you very much!
