It would be very useful if Mailessentials monitor could display WHAT it did with the message, instead of just "Item processed ok". That shouldn't be too hard to implement? I mean it could say:quote:
Catched by Bayesian Item processed OK Or:quote:
Catched by Keyword Checking Keyword Blockedword was found in body Item processed OK Or in case of ham:quote:
Item passed all tests - normal delivery Item processed OK

Yes, this would be very nice. I'd like to see it on the Subject line as well. For example, when I first implemented the system, I had everything going to the users Inbox but had the Spam mail flagged in the Subject line (i.e., Bayesian: You won a Million Bucks!!). However, once you start sending the Spam to the Junk Folder, it no longer puts the processing filter text on the Subject line. This would be a quick visual way to tell which filter is catching it (without having to open the message or dig through the monitor) and would be helpful for making quick adjustments.

Thanks for the kb reference, but wouldn't this be easier for users to configure with a check box on the Actions tab? Feature request anybody? Like many, I suspect, I tend to explore the visible features of a program to discover what it can do and only resort to manuals etc. when all else fails. The downside of this approach is that one can miss concepts or extra "features" that only appear in the documentation. tt2

Feature request anybody? i agree, this should just be a checkbox/option. there's no reason to bury something that basically everyone wants to use. not holding my breath for implementation, though.

I agree the GFI Monitor doesn't go far enough. I know it needs to be fast and lightweight, but I'd like to know: - number of messages processed per minute on average - number of messages in queue, waiting to be processed, from GFI's perspective. When I check the Queue folder, it hovers around 117 all day, and that doesn't make sense to me. Are certain messages queued for delivery at a later time? I'm not entirely familiar with all the ins and outs of MailEssentials yet, so you answers on this would help a lot. I've been trying to figure out why entire batches of obvious spam get through the filters, and my best guess is that the Queue is full, so MailEssentials lets the rest through unscanned to ensure quick delivery. Am I getting into a different topic here? LOL. Bottom line is that I can't extract enough details from GFI Monitor to know what is going on and why.

Was this feature (first post) ever implemented in MailEssentials? (We're not using MailEssential for the moment, but would still like to know)
