Hi, We are running MailEssentials and MailSecurity on a Windows 2003, Exchange 2003 Front-End Server. Latest Builds. ME vers 20080326. We want to enable directory harvesting but have 2 domains. When we have tried to enable this feature the LDAP query of the domain controller has only resolves names in the local domain not the forest. Is there anyway to resolve this? Many thanks, Simon

Simono, Do you have the server pointed to a Global Catalog? If you do, try changing the port from 389, to 3268 (This is the Global Catalog port). Then in the Base DN put in a space (use the space bar once and nothing else). Then apply your account for binding and test with this configuration. The space should automatically query the Root DN, this should help when querying on your Global Catalog for both domains.

That worked perfectly, thank you mbrunmeier! GFi Support: Could I just point out that entering a space in the DN field on MailSecurity doesn't seem possible. It would have been nice to enable Directory Harvesting for the forest in MS so we don't scan the email before it is deleted by ME. Possibly an addition for the next build of MailSecurity? Or am I missing a trick? Many thanks again, Simon

Simon, If you leave the Base DN: blank in GFI MailSecurity this will provide the same functionality as putting a space in this location in GFI MailEssentials. The Directory Harvesting feature in GFI MailSecurity will only work within the Quarantine and does not provide the same type of scanning as GFI MailEssentials. Thanks for letting us know that the space did resolve this for you in GFI MailEssentials.
