Dear Sirs,

I’ve a number of emails which were imported via a PST which were for test purposes on a old users account who no longer works for my company. Which also had Folder structures with them. I need to remove this data as it's not needed and also all other data in GFI MailArchiver is stored in the Inbox/Sent Items so I need commonality. The system is live.

I’d logged a call with GFI and got a cleardown script for MailArchiver 4, so I contacted MHerberg@gfi.com who supplied a script for MailArchiver 6.0

I'd run the script for specific Message_ID's which needed deleting, which were delete correctly.

However the Folder Structure where the messages were have been left, which are now empty.

Is there a way of removing the folder structure as this is a problem.

I’m an Ex Oracle DBA so SQL isn’t a problem to use however I want to make sure I’m looking at the correct Tables.

Any help would be appreciated.

agdickinson,

please try to resynchronize the entire mailbox for the user which you deleted the emails of.

You can do this by deleting the cookie for this mailbox stored in ..\GFI\MailArchiver\Core\UMPolling\
The file will look somthing like this UMP***Cook_[Mailbox name].dat

let us know how it goes

Hi,

I don't have mailbox synchronisation working as in previous versions of MailArchiver the folder synchronisation had problems and we ended up having to delete a partly LIVE system and reinstall as there were problems with our Signature software.

So now the system is live again and users are accessing data via the inbox and sent items, and has been in operation for about 6 weeks. GFI MailArchiver has all data and we've implemented Recipent policies in Exchange to remove data over 500 days old. So we can't exactly go back.

Fortuantely the data on the old user is fully backed up, however for conformity I'd like all old users to be uploaded into GFI MailArchiver for searching and conformance.

However eewiz and the new feature of keeping folder structure works even if you don't have Folder Structure configured. I thought it would only work if it was configured, so was rather frustrated when it was shown in structures. So I need to remove these folder structures otherwise I don't want to think about the alternative.

The worst case scenario I guess is to have to 'live' with the disjointed structures. Please correct me if I'm wrong but as I see it the problem is Outlook connector searches on MailArchiver 6.1 only can search in inbox/sent items. So if you have folder synchronisation structures you have to know what your searching in what folder otherwise use the web interface.

Any help would be appreciated.
