Cluster, unable to query service state - 17.Dec.2008 3:19:02 AM

Hello
I'm trying to query a service state from a Windows 2008 x64 server which is part of a cluster. When I query with the node name of the server, it's ok, but when I use the virtual server name of the clustered MSSQL service, I get an error "Unable to query service state". I do not have this problem with Windows Server 2003 32bits.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Pierrot

Have you tried using the IP address instead of the virtual server name?

For the connection to work, I have to specify the port number, e.g. "mssql4,1799\instance". This would suggest that the culprit is the SQL Browser which is not involved when specifying the port number.
