Hi;

Today, When I was installed the EPS 4.0 (build 20080215) in my test lab, I encountered a problem that I had not noticed before!

My problem is, I cannot change the installation path of the program to somewhere, except the default path, for example: E:\Program Files\... . In the Destination Folder of the setup program, I click on the Browse button and try to change the destination, but the program shows the following error message:

The Specified Path Is Not Valid.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

Typically, this involves deleting the HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\GFI\EndPointSecurity4 key from the registry before re-installing.  Our configuration stores path information and this check is designed to prevent you from importing an old configuration that may cause the software to fail if the installation is moved.

It is strongly recommended that you do NOT import an old configuration if you are performing these steps.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I tested this behavior in two different scenarios. In these scenarios I test this step on a newly installed Windows Server 2003 R2 systems with same results...

Thanks again.

So you get "the specified path is not valid"  on a clean install of Windows, with no prior GFI EndPointSecurity isntallations?  When does the installer give you the message, immediately after clicking browse, or after you select the path?  Do you have any network drives mapped, or perhaps NAS drives attached that could be throwing off our software's search of available drives?  Also, please try disabling all anti-virus software before attempting to install.

Thanks for your reply;

I have tested this scenario in two different situations.

First: A windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2, with McAfee antivirus installed, without NAS (local hard drive).

Second: A Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2, without any antivirus, without NAS (local hard drive)

Thanks again;

Reza

Hi and thanks for your support...

The installer gives me the error after I select the path.

Thanks again.

I haven't heard of this issue before.  I would recommend opening a support ticket so we can address some possibly registry keys that may be causing this.
