I am new Faxmaker and have just started a job where it is installed. It has been working fine according to users and it just stopped working. They can receive faxes not not send them. This is the way it is set up: Faxmaker SMTP connector on Exchange 2003, while the Faxmaker application is installed on another server. We are using a Brooktrout modem board. When I send a fax via Outlook 12125551212@faxmaker.com the email goes and does not bounce. When I look in the monitor it is not there or in the Faxmaker queue. In the Faxmaker monitor under the Mail Transport outbound queue it states 13 items and it will not go away. The monitor also reports an error logging into tohe pop3 server. On the Fax server section of the monitor it reports an error: Brooktrout unit 1 specific error: waitforcall:BfvLineWaitForCall[res status=2][res line_status=11]. How do I fix this and how do I troubleshoot this to find out the issue? Thanks.

Hi, In the monitor, do the Brooktrout lines show as un-initialized? What are the models of the Brooktrout card? When are the POP2 errors, shown in the monitor, dated?

Hi, The modems show as waiting for a call. The model is Brooktrout TR1034. The pop errors showed a date as recent as Saturday. Thanks

I found the following error in the smtp_in_log.txt file: Faild. The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc13. The server response was not available. When I ran the Windows 2003 configure your server wizard it will do an inventory of services running on your server, it reported that no SMTP server was available. Does it need on one this box based on the configuration I posted earlier? How do I resolve this?

Yes the Email2FAXGateway was configured correctly. What do you think is causing this issue? Just to clarify we cannot send but can receive. Thanks.

Please perform the procedure below: - Stop the FAXmaker Message Transfer Agent and FAXmaker Fax Server services.
- Send a fax that reproduces the problem.
- Check for the presence of files in <FAXmaker\sinkdrop> directory.
- Start the FAXmaker Message Transfer Agent service.
- Check if there are files in the FAXmaker\Out directory.
- Start the FAXmaker fax server service, and confirm that the problem is reproduced.
Please inform me whether you find any files in step 3 and step 5.

Hi, #3 the sinkdrop directory contains files only in thge ignored directory. For #5 the FAXmaker\Out directory, the pending folder has 18 items in it. I have found out that the original Faxmaker SMTP connector was deleted and recreated on the Exchange machine. The Faxmaker application is installed on a different machine than the Exchange 2003 server. Prior to the connector being deleted, the sending of faxes still did not work, it did work at one time. I am getting the event ID 929 because this connector was deleted. I did read on this site that you need to delete the connector in active directory, can this be done in sites & services or must adsi edit be used? I really need to resolve this, how can I do this? Thanks for the help.
