I'm a network admin for a small buisness. We have two desktops now that cant send faxes using the fax message form. One is win XP the other is win 2000. Both have outlook 2003 and we are using faxmaker 10. Both desktops have faxmaker client installed and use the faxmaker fax message form. They create a fax, address it and click send but then the message seems to disapear, it never makes it into their outbox or sent items. It's as if the form isn't talking to outlook at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Can you verify that your FAXes are sent from the client do not arrive at the Mailbox created for the Email2FaxGateway ? Make sure you stop the FAXmaker Message Transfer Agent Service before sending the FAX. Its possiable that FAXMaker has already downloaded the FAX.

Hi, How would I check that mailbox? I'm almost certain the faxes aren't being sent sence they never show up in the users sent items and we never get back a sent receipt. But I would be glad to check the box.
Thanks.

Well to check that mailbox you will need to pop the items out (there is an option outlook express to leave message on server) But see if the message actually arrives in the mail box. If not the try the below. Make sure you backup the registry before performing the below.
On the client machine open the registry and browse to HKLM / software /gfi fax& voice/faxmaker client/config Change domain fax to your email domain or the domain of the FAX mail box. ie if your fax mail box is fax@testingdomain.com then change faxmaker.com and replace it with testingdomain.com
I suspect that the mail message generated is trying to be sent to faxmaker.com Let me know how you go.

Similar problem here... have checked registry settings but nothing there in relation to smtp recipient for fax gateway. What is the exact registry key please
I know the "sent" fax is not getting to the mailbox for faxmaker. Am able to send a fax if I address it directly to the smtp mail box for faxmaker, if use client form - fax dissapears into ether....
Running Faxmaker 10 in split server mode (fax card kept locking up and exchange server needed hard reset - so now in split mode) Exchange 2003 Windows XP SP2 for fax server
Receives and routes faxes fine - unable to send via client form
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers IMAC

I tried the registry change and it didn't help. I was able to send a fax by hand typing the address though in Outlook. So, it would apeare that it is a problem with the way the faxmaker form talks to Outlook.
Thanks for all your help!

I stumbled across the fix for mine whereby the fax was disapearing into the exchange ether.
Perform a restart on the service - Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service. This will restart all exchange connectors.
Presto - all the test fax etc that were sent and disapeared suddenly appeared and started sending...
Hope this helps any poor sole looking for help from GFI

Maurice, It sounds like we are having the exact same issue. I uninstalled norton security from one of the machines but it didn't halp. The other machine only has norton corporate antivirus. But, it still looks like something is blocking the calls from the faxmaker form to outlook. Did you find any way to fix it?

Hi TomFromK&S,
In a previous post you mentioned that you have managed to successfully send a fax from Outlook. What addressing format did you use?
Also, what is the name of the FAXmaker client installation file that you have used to install the client software?
If you are still evaluation FAXmaker for Exchange 10, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest version - FAXmaker for Exchange/SMTP 12.

Hey nicks,
The format I used was: Name[FAXMAKER:"Name@Company@Fax Number"] If you type it directly into outlook and send the message it will go correctly.
The client install package is fexc10.exe.

I'm still having this problem. It really seems to be related to Outlook security.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you check if you have Outlook Caching enabled? If it is, try to disable it, and check if you still get the problem.

I am having the same problem with v12 Faxmaker, Outlook 2003 and WindowsXP SP2.
I can send faxes fine from Outlook but not from the Faxmaker client, they just "vanish", no error message, nothing.
I am not running Outlook in cached mode and I have tried the registry fix mentioned elsewhere to give full permisions to "everyone".
What now?
Thanks, Tom

Me too,
i have exactly the same problem that I am unable to get to the bottom of.
Exchange 2003 on windows server 2000; Faxmaker Version 12 in split server mode; Clients are running windows 2000 updated to the max! with outlook 2000 and version 12 client.
Everyone can sned faxes using the format [Fax:0123456789] no problem. Recieivng faxes is fine. Like many others here sending faxes by printing to the Faxmaker printer (opens the message form fine). However, after entering the fax number and clicking send the fax seems to just disappear! It's in the users sent items but doesn't reach our Faxmaker server, but I can't find it in any queue anywhere!??!
I am puzzled. Been on Live support for hours yesterday and have now sent troubleshooting files over to the to investigate....will post any findings.
Cheers Dave
