Have Exchange 2007 running on Windows 2003, x64. Not a cluster. Have GFI Mailessentials and MailSecurity installed, along with ReportCenter. In MSEC, Config Page, clicking on Quarantine shows 0 items for all categories, there are many rdt files (which as I understand are encrypted quarantined emails), and clicking on "Today" or other option, or "Search Folders" returns the message "Could not communicate with middle layer." Yes, all MSEC the services are running, *no* Sharepoint, web.config has been updated (enablesessionstate), rerunning "aspnet_regiis.exe -i" results in loss of ability to load the management web page at all.

Please assist with 1) getting the management page back, and 2) perusing quarantined mail.

To those of you may have read this, the aspnet_regiis issue was cuz I ran that from .Net 1.1, not .Net 2.x, and 1.1 is not compatible with x64. My bad for following the instructions blindly. Still cannot see quarantined emails and get the same error message.

TCPCAdmin,

Please check to make sure that you have the following files:

..\Program Files\GFI\Content Security\MailSecurity\QuarStore\MetaData\quarmdat.mdb
..\Program Files\GFI\Content Security\MailSecurity\QuarStore\Filters\quarfilters.mdb
..\Program Files\GFI\Content Security\MailSecurity\QuarStore\TicketMan\quarticketman.mdb

If one of these files are missing please copy the .new version of the file back into the folder and rename the copied file to .mdb.  After doing this please restart all GFI MailSecurity and GFI ContentSecurity services and attempt to open the quarantine again.

Thank you John. Turns out the mdb files were corrupt. I had to delete and then replace with copies of "new". Also lost the links to previous quarantined email. Hopefully, all will be better in the future.
