We are currently testing GFI to monitor out remote clients. We connect to each site via VPN and specify the authentication credentials in order to perform the monitoring tasks.
We are having an issue with the CPU monitoring in which we are receiving a status UNKNOWN.
The exact message is: Status: Processing Error Information: Function GetCpuUsage returned UNKNOWN
This is occuring with approximately 50% of the clients. They are running windows 2000 server as well as Windows 2003 server.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately I don;t think that article will be of any use to me... We currently allow all traffic across the VPN. There are no ports blocked to VPN traffic. Any other ideas?

Hello i have the same problem In the Server that is running GFI server monitor 6 when i check the CPU usage it says that Status: Processing Error Information: Function GetCpuUsage returned UNKNOWN
But it only happens with that host, but with the others hosts it works fine.
i have installed VBscript 5.6 for windows 2003 and i think WMI is working fine, from the management console i can see that the WMI version is 3790.0000.
What can i do+
Thanks

Profesor Moriarti,
What is the OS of the machine you are having this issue with?
Is the machine located in the same domain as the other machines which you are able to scan successfuly?

The NSM is on a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition
I¦m able to monitor hosts with: Windows 2000 Server Windows 2000 Advance Server XP Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition Windows 2003 Server Enterprise
Note: The NSM hosts ( that is the only one i have problems, has 2 Intel Pentium III 1300Mhz) Could have problems with that?

From the Network Server Monitor machine, run the following command:
wmic /node:<CompterName> /user:<UserName> /password:<Passoword> cpu get loadpercentage
NOTES: <ComputerName> should be changed for the ip address or machine name specified in Network Server Monitor. <UserName> and <Password> should be changed of the credentials specified in Network Server monitor for the rule.
Let us know the results
